The Sinister Decision – 730PM

733PM EST

When you have 0% of the vote returned, you must not ever, ever, ever say that the frikkin’ race is too close to call.

That’s like saying the girl who stood you up was too ugly to kiss.

Vermont has gone for Obama and Kentucky has been called for McCain. Kentucky then ran up the porch and slammed the door.

Vermont is a big relief. I always get worried when the woolly upscale parts of New England start flirting with Alaskan governors who believe that the Earth is only 5000 years old. It’s well known that the Connecticut state legislature has a picture of Jesus healing an Allosaurus.

Indiana, Virginia, South Carolina, Georgia and the part of Florida that I love carnally have closed but have no useful information.

My first prediction of the night; the pundits have the exit polls and it shows an Obama blow out. They are all talking about a national restructuring on the trickle of number from 2 states. I smell some inside baseball.

Pardon me, that’s just my slippers.pat

Yeah, Pat Buchanan is talking about ‘the cusp of a liberal era’ and David Gregory (who looks like Barney Rubble writ long) had to tell him to shut up. The Templars must have gotten to them.

I miss Tim Russert.

In case you want it:

- Webcast of MSNBC

- Web coverage from The Washington Post

- An Octopus Eating a Shark

- Mark Knopfler playing a really bitchin’ guitar

While you soak all that in, a veritable Big Gulp of electoral jurisdictions are expected to pounce in about 27 minutes. West Virginia just popped as did Ohio and parts of North Carolina.

Nothing. Everything else save for the insultingly predictable Kentucky and Vermont are too close or too early to call.

I hoping to make the whole night without actually conveying any information. Doing well so far.

Cool! Things should start to get good just about the time I get home from work (west coast, you know.)

Don’t kid yourself. I predict useful information will come pouring forth from you as the evening progresses.

(You might want to have that looked at, BTW.)
